The Lobster Theory

This is probably my second most favorite iconic FRIENDS theory.

(Next to Joey’s “A Moo Point” of course)

Phoebe: Hang in there, it’s gonna happen.
Ross: What? Okay, now how do you know that?
Phoebe: Because she's your lobster.
Chandler: Oh, she's goin' somewhere.
Phoebe: Come on, you guys. It's a known fact that lobsters fall in love and mate for life. You know what? You can actually see old lobster couples walkin' around their tank, you know, holding claws like ..

"Bedshaped" by Keane

Many's the time I ran with you down
The rainy roads of our old town
Many the lives we lived in each day
And buried all together
Don't laugh at me
Don't look away

You'll follow me back
With the sun in your eyes
And on your own
Bedshaped on legs of stone
You'll knock on my door
And up we'll go
In white light
I don't think so
But what do I know?
What do I know?
I know

I know you think I'm holding you down
And I've fallen by the wayside now
And I don't understand the same things as you
But I do

Don't laugh at me
Don't look away

"Oh there you are. Let me take a good look at you."

12:19 p.m. "I will not bully you. So give me the same courtesy. Tell me the truth and nothing but the truth."

12:20 p.m. Santiago raps senators for earlier saying Napoles can be offered immunity. "Mali, mali, mali!" she says.

12:47 p.m. "Hindi mo kaya itong buong empire na ito. You cannot build a pyramid out of separate bricks," Santiago says.

12:55 p.m. Santiago interrogates Napoles about her lawyer Rene Villa: "I have to say I have never met a biodata with such unparalleled mediocrity." (This is my favorite.)

After the session: "Ignorance can be treated but stupid is forever. Let's hope this is a case of ignorance."

Santiago says she's not scared of Enrile. "Matanda na iyan. Hindi nga niya kaya ipagtanggol sarili niya eh."

Santiago on Osmeña: "Inggit lang siya. May doctorate ako. Siya hindi siya nagtapos ng college."

Santiago: "Napoles is confused. Should she stay loyal to her politician BFFs, or should she save her own neck?"

Santiago to Napoles: "These people are murderous. They're planning your murder."

Santiago: "Sasagutin mo lang ako with a blank wall. Dedma ka. Pano tayo aabot sa katotohanan?"

Napoles denies she owns 28 houses.
Santiago: Ilan bahay mo?
Napoles: Tatlo po.
Santiago: Konti naman masyado.

Santiago: Kailan nag-umpisa ang pera mo?
Napoles: I invoke my right.
Santiago: Gusto ko sana turuan mo ako para yumaman din ako.

Obsessed with Hit-Girl (because I love girls who curse a lot)

[caption id="attachment_507" align="aligncenter" width="470"]Hit-Girl Hit-Girl[/caption]

To be honest, my affection for Chloë Grace Moretz when I saw Kick-Ass (2010) was purely born out of amazement with her skills. I mean, I really don’t know how much of the stunts were done by her, but she makes it look like she’s really – ahem – kicking ass.

And yes, also because she cursed a lot. Eyebrows were raised when a 12-year old Moretz said things like “cunt” and “fuck”. To me it was cool. I know she doesn’t talk like that in person. Yeah we’re close.

But when I saw Kick-Ass 2 (2013), my obsession became a full-blown dreamathon.

I really liked the way she sort of grown up a bit in that movie, especially when she was juggling two lives (one was that of a superhero, the other that of a typical teenage girl). The movie suddenly turned into a Mean Girls rip-off complete with the usual high school bullying drama. The difference is, Moretz was way cooler (and feistier) than Lindsay Lohan.

Showing her emotional side really made me like her more, because it was technically my first time to see her cry. She didn’t do that in (500) Days of Summer (2009) nor in Dark Shadows (2012). Of course, The Amityville Horror (2005) and Let Me In (2010) are totally out of the question.

She seemed to have done a lot of crying in the remake of Carrie (2013), though. I am yet to see that one.

Hit-Girl is the ultimate modern chic superhero. I just love it when she fights and trashtalks at the same time. I hope she appears in a movie with a lot of cursing (again). I think she’s one of the few young actresses who can pull it off convincingly, aside from Jennifer Lawrence.

Oh yeah, I’ve heard that Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the dude who played Kick-Ass, will be the villain in the next Avengers movie, prolly coming out in 2015. Shoot, I hope Moretz can be a villain too. Hmmm.. Anyway she’s still very young (16) and for sure there’ll be a lot coming her way.
